After the independent referee panel failed to make a unanimous decision, no action will be take against West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi for his punch on Liverpool striker Danny Ings.

The incident caused uproar on social media when the camera spotted Hegazi punching Ings after a coming together between the two players in the first half of the 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Referee Stuart Attwell and his assistants failed to spot the altercation, leading to its review by an independent referee panel made up of three former officials.

However, they failed to come to a unanimous decision meaning no further action will be taken against the Egyptian.
