Ter Stegen's future at Barcelona still up in the air

Barcelona have definitively shown Marc-Andre ter Stegen the exit door on Monday. The official renewal of Wojciech Szczesny closes the goalkeeping positions with the Pole and Joan Garcia.
For weeks now, especially since the end of La Liga, the 'Cules' have been trying to find a destination for the German goalkeeper, who has a contract until June 2028. However, the German is determined to stay and fulfil his contract.
Several clubs have been lined up for Ter Stegen, but so far none of the teams have made a move. 'Bild' spoke of Juventus, Manchester City, Milan, PSG and Newcastle United, five top destinations in Europe.
However, and despite the fact that Barcelona are already starting the pre-season and would have liked to close the Ter Stegen transfer saga, the German goalkeeper's destination could be delayed until the end of the transfer window.
The German will have to decide whether to look for a new destination where he can get playing time and opt for a starting place in the 2026 World Cup or stay at Barcelona relegated to being the third goalkeeper in discord.
Right now, Barcelona have four goalkeepers in the squad: Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, Ter Stegen and Inaki Pena. And, curiously, the only two who are registered are the two who are not counted on: Ter Stegen himself and Pena.
