Spurs star Son poised to join LAFC for potential record fee

Son Heung-Min is on the verge of closing a wonderful chapter with Tottenham Hotspur. The South Korean winger has already reached a verbal agreement with Los Angeles FC to join the MLS side and thus end his nine-year spell in London. 

The former Leverkusen striker, who decided to try his luck in the Premier League in 2015, has not traveled back to the UK with the Spurs squad as he awaits paperwork with LAFC, and the announcement of his signing is only a matter of time.

The Tottenham legend played what was apparently his last game for the club in a 1-1 friendly draw against Newcastle in Seoul on Sunday, where he was embraced by his teammates and received a small tribute. 

Son Heung-Min will thus end his time as a Spurs player having scored 173 goals in 454 official appearances for the London club, who will receive around £20 million for the South Korean winger, whose contract was due to expire in 2026.
