Spurs' Romero reaches agreement in principle with Atletico Madrid

Tottenham defender Cristian Romero is closer to ending his four-season spell at the London club and packing his bags for Spain.
The Argentine center-back wanted new challenges in his career and everything points to the fact that he will be able to fulfill his goal of playing in La Liga, something he confirmed last week in an interview with ‘Los Edul’.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Genoa player has reached an agreement in principle with Atletico Madrid to sign a contract until 2030 that would include the option to extend until 2031.
Romero would thus leave Spurs having played 120 official matches so far, in which he has scored seven goals and provided one assist.
The arrival of the Tottenham defender would further accentuate the Argentinean atmosphere at Atletico Madrid, who have up to six players from that country in the squad: Rodrigo De Paul, Nahuel Molina, Ángel Correa, Juan Musso, Julián Alvarez and Giuliano Simeone.
