Mbappe, Alaba missing from Real Madrid training ahead of Celta

Real Madrid prepare to return to La Liga action after their painful 'Clasico' defeat in the Copa del Rey final. But ahead of their clash against Celta Vigo, two major absences were noted from Tuesday afternoon's training session.
Kylian Mbappe and David Alaba were not present with the team, missing out on the session alongside defenders Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger and Ferland Mendy, and midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
Rudiger underwent surgery today for an injury to his left knee and will miss between six and eight weeks during his recovery process, while French duo Mendy and Camavinga will also both miss the Club World Cup after their injuries were confirmed by the club.
According to 'EFE', former Bayern defender Alaba was dealt with discomfort in his right knee and stayed inside the club's facilities. Mbappe kept the Austrian company, missing training after starring against Barcelona in the Spanish Cup final.
The 26-year-old striker was benched at La Cartuja after failing to recover from an ankle issue, but came on at half-time to deliver a bright display for Los Blancos. Mbappe scored a free-kick and was crucial in Real Madrid's attacking threat in the second period.
But having stayed inside Real Madrid Sports City to complete physiotherapy treatment, it is clear that Mbappe is still suffering pain from his ankle sprain. Nevertheless, it is understood that there is optimism among the coaching staff that he will be fit to play against Celta.
