Herrera and Lemar test positive for COVID-19

The coronavirus continues to affect Atlético Madrid. According to 'Marca' on Monday morning, the club suspended the gathering ahead of the match against Celta because of two possible cases.

The players will go directly to the Wanda Metropolitano to play the matchday 22 game in La Liga, as this was the measure they adopted to avoid more cases and possible infections.

And the bad news has been confirmed, Atlético have informed that both midfielder Héctor Herrera and attacker Thomas Lemar have tested positive for the coronavirus.

"Héctor Herrera and Thomas Lemar underwent antigen tests on Monday morning ahead of our fixture against Celta, in accordance with the LaLiga protocol. Both players tested positive for COVID-19. They later underwent PCR tests, which confirmed the results", the statement said.

"The Mexican and the Frenchman are isolating at home, in compliance with the health authorities’ guidelines and LaLiga protocols", it continued.
