Atalanta, Roma, Lazio make steps towards Champions League, Bologna hold Juve

With just three games to go in the Italian top flight, six points separate third-placed Atalanta from seventh-placed Bologna, who are just out of the European places following their 1-1 draw against Juventus on Sunday night. Serie A missed out on a fifth Champions League spot this term, meaning only the top four teams will qualify for next season's edition of the top continental club competitions.
Missing eight players in their visit to Dall'Aria, Juventus only managed to earn a point against the 'Rossoblu', but their Champions League bid remains alive as they sit fourth, level on 63 points with Roma and Lazio. Kephrem Thuram broke the deadlock within ten minutes to fire the visitors ahead, striking a low drive from range past goalkeeper Skorupski.
Nico Gonzalez and Andrea Cambiaso both had goals ruled out for offside following VAR review, allowing Bologna to settle into the game and hit back in the 54th minute. Dallinga nodded a Cambiaghi cross into the path of Remo Freuler, who controlled the ball beautifully before slotting it in the back of the net to share the spoils in Emilia-Romagna.
Meanwhile, Roma sealed a 1-0 win over Fiorentina at the Olimpico thanks to Artem Dovbyk's goal in first-half stoppage-time. The 'Viola' went closest to equalising with Kean, but Svilar's heroics between the sticks saw Claudio Ranieri's men extend their unbeaten run to 19 matches. Defeat leaves Fiorentina in eight with 59 points, four behind the 'Giallorossi' in fifth.
Fellow Italian capital outfit Lazio also got away with three points thanks to a narrow 1-0 win against Empoli. In a hard-fought clash at the Castellani, Boulaye Dia netted in the first minute, as Colombo and Hysaj both saw red. Mattia Viti sent the hosts into ecstasy after scoring in the 52nd minute, but his goal was disallowed by VAR.
At Monza, Atalanta cruised to a 4-0 win, which condemned the 'Biancorossi' to relegation from Serie B. Charles de Ketelaere starred for 'La Dea', bagging a nine-minute brace to put the game to bed within the 23rd minute. Lookman added a third early in the second half, with Brescianini completing the rout late on. Gasperini's side stay third, but now hold a five-point cushion on the Champions League chasers further down.
