Zaire-Emery had to ask her parents for authorisation to travel with France squad

Warren Zaire-Emery has unwittingly triggered one of the most curious news of 2023. The young footballer, who has not yet turned 18, must have his parents' permission to leave France, reports 'L'Equipe'.

The PSG player has been called up by Didier Deschamps for the matches against Gibraltar in Nice and Greece in Greece. And that is where the problem lies.

Since 17th January 2017, any minor residing in France who wishes to leave the country, without being accompanied by his or her parents or legal guardian, must present an authorisation from these persons in order to be allowed to travel.

This was adopted as a counter-terrorism measure to prevent young minors from travelling to conflict zones.

As a result, Zaire-Emery had to ask his parents for authorisation to allow him to leave France so that he could travel with the national team to Greece for the second match of this international break.
