FC Barcelona gem Lamine Yamal has taken advantage of his call-up to the Spanish national team to speak to 'Marca'. In this interview, the footballer declared that Spain can win the European Championship next summer: "We have a team that is more than capable of winning it."
The journalists joked that Luis de la Fuente could be his grandfather and he commented on his relationship with the coach: "He's been very good to him since the first day. He has given me a lot of advice since I arrived," he claimed.
He had good words for his Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez: "I owe him a lot. I owe him a lot. He takes me up for training, makes me make my debut, gives me continuity. He is the one who gives confidence to the youngsters.
"I believe that in all the competitions where we are still alive, we can still dream. If there's a chance of winning, you can win. If Madrid fail, let them know that we're right next to them, to take as many points off them as possible. We're going to give them a fight," he said.
When questioned about his dreams, he confessed: "I want to play in a Champions League final, play in a European Championship, play in a World Cup. To be able to score in a World Cup or a European Championship," he added.
"Anything that means playing is good for me. Whatever comes, well, fine, but first we'll think about the European Championship," he explained.
Yamañl also expressed that he is not afraid of what happened to Pedri: "In the end it all depends on the person. There is still a long way to go. I don't know, it's something that can happen, but well, as long as I'm playing, I'll be available".
