Xavi Simons pushes for Premier League; Chelsea lead Arsenal in transfer race

Xavi Simons has informed RB Leipzig's board of directors of his desire to leave the club this summer, according to multiple specialist sources. The 22-year-old Dutchman is prioritising a move to the Premier League, where both Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping a close eye on his situation.
Chelsea have already started talks with the player's entourage, positioning themselves as the most concrete option so far. At the moment, there have been no direct negotiations between clubs, nor have any official offers been made.
Leipzig have set Simons' asking price at around 65 million euros plus variables, after investing 50 million plus bonus in his transfer from PSG. The German club does not envisage a price higher than 80 million, as not all agreed bonuses have been activated yet.
Simons has shown consistency over the last season, scoring 11 goals and providing eight assists, and is considered one of Europe's most versatile talents. The loss of European qualification has accelerated the player's intentions to seek a new challenge outside Germany.
Arsenal are monitoring the move closely, although they have not yet made the final move to compete with Chelsea for his signature. Simons' entourage, represented by agent Ali Barat, were already instrumental in bringing Moises Caicedo to Stamford Bridge. Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been interested in the past, but the player's current desire is to move to England.
