Xabi Alonso wants Asensio at Bayer Leverkusen

Marco Asensio could change his future destination, although not the nationality of his coach, before 1 February, when the transfer window closes in Europe's top leagues.

Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen are interested in the Spanish international, who last Sunday returned to the starting line-up for Paris Saint-Germain and scored one of his team's goals.

'Sky Germany' has confirmed that the German side have made a bid to bring Asensio into their squad in the last few hours, taking advantage of the few minutes he has had under Luis Enrique since his signing.

The Spaniard has only played 12 games for Paris Saint-Germain, either due to a lack of opportunities or an injury that has sidelined him for two months.

Asensio does not want to leave
