Wirtz scores first Liverpool goal amid ongoing Diogo Jota tributes

Liverpool banished the memory of their defeat to Milan with a convincing 3-1 victory over Yokohama F Marinos in their third pre-season friendly.
Florian Wirtz, Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha were all on the scoresheet. The German midfielder opened his account for the Reds in only his second appearance for his new club.
After a pass from Curtis Jones, the former Bayer Leverkusen man had the simple task of slotting the ball home from close range, levelling the scores after Asahi Uenaka's early opener.
Once again, before kick-off, Liverpool legend Ian Rush laid a wreath in front of one of the stands in a solemn tribute to Diogo Jota, who recently died in a traffic accident.
Fans also showed their immense love and respect, displaying numerous banners and gestures honouring Jota and his brother.
A particularly moving moment saw the stadium lights dimmed, replaced by the glow of mobile phones, as the Diogo Jota song resonated. The team, as they had against Milan, wore a special patch featuring his number and a heart.
