"What a top club like Chelsea need" - Madueke responds to Maresca

Enzo Maresca made comments after Chelsea's win over Southampton explaining why Noni Madueke would have enjoyed less playing time than usual in recent games for the Blues. The Italian manager explained that the England winger lacked ambition after scoring goals or providing assists in some games. 

Many fans thought that this might bring some kind of tension between the Blues attacker and his manager, but nothing could be further from the truth. Madueke responded to Maresca by praising the Italian's honesty and stressing that he is the perfect figurehead for a top club like Chelsea. 

"Maresca is honest and truthful. He tells the truth and he is a man you can trust. That’s all you want from a coach. He is a coach that is straight with everyone and fair to everyone. That’s what you need at a top club like Chelsea," he said. 

The truth is that the Italian manager has completely changed Chelsea's fortunes since his arrival and the Blues currently sit seven points behind leaders Liverpool in second place, putting the Stamford Bridge outfit back in the race for the domestic title after several seasons.
