'We're going to get through this together'

The support of your captain is always vital, particularly in difficult times. It appears Lionel Messi was thinking similarly when the full-time whistle went on Tuesday.
The Argentina no. 10 went down to the dressing room to try to rouse his weary troops: "We're going to get through this, together," he uttered.
The gesture is thought to have gone down very well amongst Messi's team-mates and the Argentina coaching staff, with Messi having also gone down to the dressing room at half-time.
Messi was deemed not fit enough to start at the Wanda Metropolitano and was forced to watch from the stands, though he departed 10 minutes before the end of play.
Despite his decision to leave his seat early, the captain didn't leave his players in the lurch following their historic defeat, instead encouraging them and massaging their egos. A captain never rests.
