"We didn't want that season to end"

June 6 marks the fifth anniversary of Barcelona's second treble. A somewhat strange season, but one that ended in style for Barça.

Ivan Rakitic, one of the protagonists that season and a goalscorer during the final against Juventus, remembered the events of that stunning 2014-15 season. 

"I remember many times the feeling we had in the team. There was such a strong feeling of superiority and strength...", explained the Croatian.

Rakitic arrived from Sevilla, where he had won the Europa League, winning the two biggest trophies in European football in the space of two years.

"I was the first player in history to win the Europa League consecutively and then the Champions League. It was an incredible two years in a row. The final in Berlin will always stick in my mind and in the minds of my whole family," he said of his performance in those years.

The Balkan gave the recipe for success : "The greatest virtue was the mix between the new players, who arrived very hungry, and the experience and class that was already in the group."

The Barcelona player remembered that the trident formed by Messi, Neymar and Suárez was a delight: "It was to enjoy it... a lot. You could see the concern in the opponents because they had to put all their attention to the maximum. It was a great joy to see that trident play, to enjoy it and to be with it."
