We assess the title race in Europe's Top 5 Leagues

- Premier League: City's to lose -
Gap to second: 14 points.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side appear to have the title sewn up as they sit 14 points clear of arch-rivals Manchester United in second, as well as boasting a goal difference some 30 strikes better than that of Jose Mourinho's side. City have lost just once all season, and have won a remarkable 26 of their 30 games to date. The 'Citizens' are on course to break a host of Premier League records, including the records points tally set by Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side, with City more than capable of being the first side to pass 100 points in the Premier League era, if they keep their focus in the remaining eight games.
Verdict: Foregone conclusion.
- La Liga: Barca to reclaim Real Madrid's crown -
Gap to second: 11 points.
Real Madrid's complete loss of form domestically left the path all but clear for Ernesto Valverde's side to march to the title. A tricky clash with Atletico Madrid last month could have blown the title race wide open had the Catalans lost but they did their job, claiming a narrow victory and it now looks like a case of when and not if they will claim the trophy over the course of the last nine games. A late collapse looks all the more unlikely when you consider that Barca are yet to lose in the league this season, with 23 wins and six draws from 29 games and are just two games away from beating Real Sociedad's record for the longest winning streak in Spanish top-flight history.
Verdict: Barca's to lose.
- Ligue 1: PSG to make up for European failings -
Gap to second: 17 points.
PSG's Champions League campaign may have come to a shuddering halt for the second consecutive season but they look set to wrestle back domestic bragging rights from reigning champions Monaco. Unai Emery's side are currently 17 points clear of the Monegasque side, albeit having played a game more and boast a far superior goal difference to their rivals. The Parisian side have lost just two of their 31 games in the league this season and are just five goals away from a century in the league.
Verdict: In the bag.
- Serie A: Two-horse race -
Gap to second: 2 points.
Juventus lead the way in Italy but are followed closely up the rear by Napoli, who have an eerily similar record to the Turin-based side. With just two points and six goals separating the two sides, this one looks set to go down to the wire and the decisive game could come when the pair face off at Juventus Stadium on April 22. Juventus have won the last six Serie A titles in a row, whilst Napoli are hoping for their first title since 1989.
Verdict: Tough one to call but Juve's experience makes them favourites.
- Bundesliga: Bayern triumph imminent -
Gap to second: 17 points.
The Bavarians hold a commanding 17-point lead with seven games of the season to go, with Schalke their closest challengers. Bayern missed the chance to claim their sixth successive Bundesliga crown before the international break but could finally do so on Saturday if they beat third-placed Borussia Dortmund and Schalke drop points against Freiburg.
Verdict: Put your mortgage on it (don't actually put your mortgage on it).
