Watkins and Sesko lead Man Utd’s transfer wish list

Manchester United has identified Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko as its top priorities to strengthen its attack during the current transfer window.
The Old Trafford club recognises the need to offload several players before making a significant outlay on a new striker, which could delay negotiations until the final days of the transfer period.
Aston Villa has made it clear that it has no intention of selling Watkins, who recently renewed his contract until 2028 and is considered a key player in Unai Emery's scheme.
Manchester United, however, is confident that Villa's stance could soften as the transfer window closes, although the £60 million price tag is considered excessive for a 29-year-old player.
In Sesko's case, RB Leipzig has set a reference value of around £70 million, a figure that could increase due to interest from clubs such as Newcastle, which is already in negotiations with the Slovenian striker's entourage. Newcastle United has pushed hard to secure Sesko's services, even preparing an offer in excess of £60 million.
The 22-year-old player scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga and 21 in total last season, establishing himself as one of Europe's most promising talents. At Old Trafford, coach Ruben Amorim continues to rely on Rasmus Hojlund as his starting striker, although his poor performance last season has raised doubts about his future in that role.
