Vokes put Burnley back in front

It could be argued that the first goal came against the run of play, but that was nothing compared to this second effort. 

Cardiff had tied the game thanks to a fine effort from Josh Murphy, and they did not look back from there, piling the pressure on Sean Syche's side. 

However, they momentarily switched off at the back and were ruthlessly punished by a combination of Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Vokes. 

A ball over the top found the Iceland international on the right hand side of the box in all sorts of space. He crossed into the box and there was Vokes arriving ahead of his man. 

The Wales striker glanced a header into the far corner, well out of reach of Etheridge, and was off towards his fans.
