Villa sign Kodjia in Championship record deal

Villa have broke the record twice in one window, with Ross McCormack previously breaking the record with his move potentially worth £14m.

Kodjia scored 19 goals in the Championship last season for Bristol City, and Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo seems delighted to get another goalscorer on the books at Villa Park.

"He is a proven goalscorer and hopefully he'll play an important part in what we hope will be a successful season for the club," the former Chelsea manager said.

Kodjia has signed a four-year contract with Villa and will now link up with the Ivory Coast squad for their game with Sierra Leone.
