Emiliano Martinez had to be substituted at half-time of the match between Chelsea and Aston Villa in the 13th Premier League matchday of the season. The Argentinian told his manager Unai Emery that he could not continue due to some discomfort in his hand of which, for the moment, no details have come to light. The logical thing is that, these days, he will undergo medical tests at the Birmingham facilities.

Aston Villa's Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was substituted at half-time in his side's clash with Chelsea after picking up an injury during the first half.

The Villa goalkeeper asked his manager, Unai Emery, for a substitution in the final minutes of the first half, apparently with a hand problem after a collision with Nico Jackson.

The Argentine held on until the end of the first half and, at half-time, was replaced by Roger Olsen as his side trailed 2-0 with goals from Nico Jackson and Enzo Fernandez.
