VIDEO: Tomiyasu's successful first season at Arsenal

Takehiro Tomiyasu joined Arsenal for a fee of around 18 million euros last summer and had an encouraging first season in England.

The Japanese international hit the ground running in North London and claimed the starting right back spot as his own. Despite only registering 1 assist in his 22 appearances, Tomiyasu won over Arsenal fans early on with his impressive defensive performances, solid tackling and overall application on the field of play. A reoccurring calf injury hindered his season to an extent, but overall the former Bologna man will be pleased with how he has adapted to Premier League football.

Next season Tomiyasu will look to cement the right back role as his own and build on an impressive start to life at Arsenal.
