VIDEO: PSV win eight goal thriller vs Ajax in Dutch Super Cup

PSV met arch Dutch rivals, Ajax, at the Amsterdam ArenA to battle it out for the Johan Cruyff Shield on Saturday. It was PSV who prevailed in winning the first piece of domestic silverware up for grabs this season.

Ajax's new signing, Steven Bergwijn opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour. PSV's Guus Til then responded in the 32nd minute and added another on the stroke of half time. In the second half, Antony drew level for the home side before Gakpo put PSV ahead once again. Til then completed his hat-trick but Kudus halved the deficit two minutes later. Calvin Bassey was then sent off for the home side and Xavi Simmons put the game beyond doubt in additional time to see the scoreline read 3-5.
