Monaco hosted Lille on the penultimate matchday of the 2016-17 season knowing that three points would all but secure them the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 17 years.

They made light work of their opponents in a comprehensive 4-0 victory and that meant they went into the final day of the season three points ahead of PSG and with a superior goal difference by 17 goals. There was to be no miracle and Monaco, who then had Mbappe, were crowned champions of France.
