On the day, Gwangju got off to a flying start after Eom Ji-Sung put his side ahead just 30 minutes into the match. Soon-Min then scored a screamer just nine minutes after the break to make it two, before Lee Min-Ki tripled his side's advantage on 73 minutes. There was time for Lee Han-Do to score an own goal, but it proved nothing more than a consolation for Gangwon as Gwangju cruised to a comfortable victory.

That result takes Gwangju closer to Gangwon, as the two are now separated by just two points in tenth and ninth respectively.
