Steven Gerrard retained hope after Rangers lost 2-1 to Malmo. DUGOUT

Steven Gerrard believes Steven Davis' stoppage time goal gives Rangers a real chance to progress into the next round of Champions League qualification, despite a 2-1 defeat in the first leg at Malmo.

Rangers travelled to Sweden to take on Malmo in a Champions League 3rd round qualifier first leg.

After a goalless first half at the Eleda Stadium, Malmo took the lead through Soren Rieks in the 47th minute. Veljko Birmancevic added a second for the home side two minutes later to leave Rangers in real trouble. However, Steven Davis scored a 95th minute goal to leave Rangers in with a good shout going into the second leg.

After the game, Steven Gerrard reflected on the 2-1 defeat and felt his team could turn things around in the second leg on Tuesday. Have a listen to his comments in the video above!
