The away side opened the scoring on 26 minutes through Bruno Gomes, but the hosts pulled one back just two minutes before the break with Paulo Victor.

The score-line remained level for just ten minutes after HT, as Cano edged Vasco in front on 56 minutes. The Argentine completed his brace just four minutes from time to hand the away side all three points.

The result sees Vasco ascend to fifth in the Carioca 1, just four points off the promotion play-offs. Resende slip down to ninth, four points from safety.
