The match was effectively wrapped up in the opening minutes of the match. MT latched onto a fine pass by Marquinhos Gabriel, putting his side 1-0 up within just 14 minutes. Despite Confianca boasting the lions share of possession and recording more shots on goal, Vasco held out for the win.

The victory takes them up to seventh place in the Brazilian Serie B, while Confiança remain in 15th.
