Veiga gives green light to Atletico as Chelsea demand €40m deal

Renato Veiga has given the go-ahead to join Atletico Madrid and has agreed personal terms with the red-and-white club without any problems.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player has already communicated his desire to join Diego Simeone's side. Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are still in direct talks to agree on the final transfer fee.
The London club maintains its position and is demanding a global package of up to 40 million euros, including bonuses for objectives. The Portuguese midfielder is one of Atletico's priorities in the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their midfield.
Journalist Matteo Moretto also confirmed the monitoring and progress of the negotiations in the last few hours. Atletico value positively the profile of the player, who can play both as a defensive pivot and in inside positions.
With the player's agreement already confirmed, the closing of the economic agreement is the last step pending to make the operation official.
The red and white sporting management is confident that Chelsea will lower their demands in order to complete their second signing in this market.
