Van Gaal announces he's cancer-free

Louis Van Gaal is now cancer-free. The veteran Dutch manager, 73, confirmed he had beaten the illness during an appearance on Humberto Tan's RTL Talkshow on RTL.
"I no longer suffer from cancer. Ultimately, it all turned out well, and I can now manage it. I have check-ups every few months, and things are progressing well. My physical condition is constantly improving," said the former Barcelona and Manchester United manager.
Van Gaal detailed his battle with the disease, which he first revealed in 2022: "Two years ago, I had surgery several times. Everything was going badly at that time. I experienced significant issues with bowel control, relying on incontinence pads; it was truly awful. I often appear in public and wear dark trousers to minimise visibility."
"Despite my illness, I've received offers to manage clubs over the past two years. I won't manage a club because I don't feel like working every day. Who would want a 73-year-old who has had prostate cancer? I would only consider roles with national teams like England and Germany," he said.
