Uruguay do not release Araujo who will miss the Barca-Osasuna match

Hansi Flick will not be able to count on Ronald Araujo for Barca-Osasuna. The centre-back has not been released by the Uruguay national team for their clash against Bolivia on Tuesday 25, two days before the Azulgranas host the Navarran side in the match delayed due to the death of Dr Carles Minarro.
The Charrua national team shared Marcelo Bielsa's call-up list on Monday for the visit to the Estadio Municipal de El Alto in La Paz, a venue that is known to be physically demanding for the players. For this second game of the South American qualifiers, the coach has left out 12 of the 38 called-up players. All of them were immediately released and returned to their clubs.
The rest, including Araujo, Real Madrid's Fede Valverde and Atletico's Jose Maria Gimenez, will be looking for a win after losing 1-0 to Argentina in the first game. Barca had already thought that the centre-back would not be available against Osasuna, but with this list comes official confirmation.
This was the circumstance that led Barca to appeal against the decision to set the match against Osasuna for 27 April, as it was technically impossible for the South American players to arrive on time. Flick will also be without his most in-form player, Raphinha, because Brazil play on the same night of Tuesday 25, as do Uruguay against Argentina.
If there are no physical setbacks, the Cules will be able to count on Araujo and Raphinha for Sunday, when they host Girona at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Almost all of the European internationals will be available against Osasuna, as the break is over for most of them and the distances are not the same as in South America.
These are the cases of Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsi, Pablo Torre and Gerard Martín. Also Jules Koundé and Frenkie de Jong. Lewandowski still has to play this Monday with Poland against Malta, but he won't have any problem to arrive in time, and there is still the doubt of Héctor Fort because Spain U19 will play this Tuesday in Latvia in the qualifier for the European Championship.
