With 450 appearances for the London club, former France captain Hugo Lloris has been a mainstay of the club in recent years. Even if he hasn't won any trophies with the side, the French goalkeeper has made a major contribution to Tottenham's performance recently.
With rumors of a move to Saudi Arabia, the 36-year-old goalkeeper spoke to 'Nice Matin'. During the interview, he explained that his future was far from set in stone.
"We're coming to an important moment, both for the club and for me. It's the end of an era. I want to do other things, and I'm going to sit back and study what's possible," he explained.
Although he clearly implied that he would be happy to leave England soon, the French goalkeeper explained that he could wait another year: "I'm not forgetting that I still have a year left on my contract with Tottenham and that in football it's always difficult to predict what's going to happen," he reminded us.
He continued: "My aim is to be at my best in July, and then we'll see what the future holds. You can't go from a successful World Cup to being just another player in a few months. My performances were a bit irregular and I was injured twice. I came out of the World Cup pretty blunt. The pace had been hellish before that. This is the first time in my career that I've been unavailable".
"I'm fine in my head and in my body. This period will bring me freshness so that I can continue to enjoy the effort, the performance and the work. The most important thing is to find a project in which I can flourish, at Tottenham among others.", he finished.
Alongisde the rumours of the move to Saudi Arabia, there is also speculation of a potential return to Nice, the club he came up from.
