Tottenham join race for Real Madrid's Rodrygo

Rodrygo's future remains a question mark. The Brazilian, currently on holiday, has yet to meet with Real Madrid to make a decision. The days are passing and the attacker continues to accumulate suitors. The last one is Tottenham, as reported by the newspaper “AS”.

Spurs have joined the race to sign the Brazilian, who is also known to be of interest to two other London clubs - Arsenal and Chelsea - as well as Bayern and Liverpool as a replacement for Luis Diaz. There have even been rumours of a possible contact with Barca, the 'Merengues' eternal rivals.

Tottenham seem determined to make a bid for Rodrygo. The aforementioned media reports that the club has promised new coach Thomas Frank signings for the team to make a leap at all levels to fight for important things. The Brazilian is part of the equation for the Lilywhites, who have spent 193 million euros on just four players.

The objective of Spurs president Daniel Levy is to try to lower Madrid's demands and for the deal to be less than 90 million euros. There have been approaches with the player, but not with the Spanish team. The Santiago Bernabeu side has not received any proposal for an attacker who has a secondary role.

Rodrygo has been very intermittent throughout the 2024-25 season. Already in the last Club World Cup he was barely significant with Xabi Alonso -93 minutes in 3 games- and that made him realise that he should talk to the club. The meeting will not take place until after the holidays. For the moment, the situation is on stand by.
