Tottenham forward Njie has knee operation

Tottenham Hotspur's Cameroon international forward Clinton Njie has undergone knee surgery, the Premier League club revealed on Sunday.

The 22-year-old, who signed from Lyon during the close season, damaged ligaments in his knee during Tottenham's 4-1 Europa League win over Monaco earlier this month.

Spurs did not say how long he was likely to be unavailable for.

"Our medical staff will monitor Clinton's progress during his rehabilitation to determine when he will be ready to return to training," the club said in a statement.

Njie is yet to start a league game for Spurs and has not scored in 13 appearances.
