Tomiyasu admits he lost confidence after losing his place in Arsenal XI

Takehiro Tomiyasu injured his knee in the Europa League round of 16 against Sporting Lisbon in March. The Japanese had to undergo surgery and missed the rest of the season.
As a result, Mikel Arteta decided to count on Ben White, who has had superb performances last campaign. The English defender won the coach's faith and has been a key player ever since.
The Japan international has now been able to return to training with his teammates but he has lost his key role in the Arsenal squad. The 24-year-old admitted in an interview that he has lost confidence after his injury.
"Yes, it was a difficult period for me. Ben White was doing very well and to be honest I lost confidence. But the injury period was four months and I think about a lot of things in this time.
"You need to learn from the injuries, also the mistakes. You have good and bad moments, but you need to learn a lot of things from the bad moments. Now I am feeling good, not only for my body, my head also. It’s all positive," he claimed.
