Timber set for Arsenal return against Fulham after international setback

Jurrien Timber's unexpected withdrawal from the Netherlands squad for the second leg of their Nations League quarter-final against Spain sparked concern among Arsenal fans. 

The versatile defender missed both legs of the tie through illness. Aston Villa's Ian Maatsen was called up as his replacement for the crucial clash in Valencia. 

Despite this setback, reports suggest Timber could recover in time for Arsenal's next Premier League game against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium. 

The Gunners' absence in the FA Cup this weekend gives Timber an extra recovery period as well as boosting his chances of playing in the London derby. 

Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League table with 58 points and Arteta will want Timber to keep the pressure on leaders Liverpool. 

Timber's return would be a major boost for the Spanish manager, given the defender's strong performances this season after recovering from a long-term injury.
