"They should give the Ballon d'Or to Pedri"

With just over a day to go until the 'Clasico' between Barcelona and Real Madrid, Ferran Torres sat down for an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo' to chat about the Ballon d'Or and his experience with having a veteran figure like Robert Lewandowski guiding him.
Sunday's showdown at the Montjuic could be Barca's chance to put the title race to bed, with the Merengues sitting four points behind with four games to go. Moreover, it could present as an opportunity to put the painful Champions League exit behind them.
"As the hours go by, I am only thinking about the positive aspects. We had done the hardest thing, which was to come from behind, but football is like this," Torres said after losing out to Inter Milan in extra-time after an epic semi-final tie, which ended 7-6 on aggregate.
"We are a young team, and I have no doubt that we will prove in the future that we will have more chances. We will make it." Asked about the referring, which became a hot topic after the match, the 25-year-old added: "I would rather not talk about it."
Moving on from the match at the San Siro, 'El Tiburon' talked about his teammate Lewandowski. "I am proud of having Lewandowski in front because he is one of the best, if not the best, strikers of the last 10 or 15 years," he said of the Poland captain.
Torres admitted that he tries to gain as much advice as possible from the 36-year-old. He added: "I'm like a sponge, I try to absorb everything from him. I ask him questions, he gives me advice and from there on I try to make the most of the minutes I have as a striker."
The former Man City player also hailed Pedri, insisting that the midfielder should be rewarded with the Ballon d'Or for his performances this season. "I am not surprised because I never had any doubts about him. He is special," Torres said.
"He is showing it this year, but it was also visible in previous years. I don't think we've seen the best Pedri yet, he can give much more. He is always there when he is needed. Ballon d'Or? Yes, for me, they should give it to him because what he is showing is beyond normal."
