"The job Lopetegui did at Real Madrid was fundamental"

Julen Lopetegui just needed a little bit more time on the Real Madrid bench, that is the opinion of Oliver Torres. "Real Madrid are also a very demanding club... I don't know if it was because of a lack of time or what, but I'm sure that the job Julen did there was fundamental," he told 'Marca'. 

But that is now in the past. Because now Lopetegui is at Sevilla and his methods are suiting the team nicely. "Julen is a safe choice and I'm not talking about results but about the work, demands and ambition he has as a coach. He always tries to give his best, knows what the player thinks to help him improve and that is sign of a great coach," he analysed.

This Saturday, Sevilla are visiting Real Madrid and Oliver Torres is expecting a dangerous opponent, although he fancies his side's chances. "We saw a strong Real Madrid in the Super Cup and solid, but we are prepared to compete against any team and we are very excited," he continued. 

Lastly, Oliver Torres highlighted Modric's role. "He has been playing at a great level for a while for all midfielders, he is one we look up to because of how he plays football, how he understands it, for everything he does on the pitch and the way he is," he concluded.
