The James Bond who rejected Manchester United

The world of cinema is mourning the death of Sean Connery. The actor passed away on Saturday at 90 and left a great legacy in which his presence as James Bond stood out.
Few recall that the now famous actor was a football player back in the day. And that he also could have been a Manchester United player but he rejected it to focus on acting.
"An elite footballer begins his decline at the age of 30. At that time I was 23. In the end I decided to become an actor, something that turned out to be one of the most intelligent things I have ever done", Sean Connery said at the time.
'Marca' recalls that it was Sir Matt Busby, Manchester United manager, who offered him a contract of 25 pounds a week to sign for Manchester United.
Where Sean Connery did go was Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, who dedicated a beautiful message to him: "A rainbow falls on to New Dundas Park following the sad announcement of probably our most famous footballer & one of the most iconic Scots of all time. We would like to offer our deepest condolences to his family. RIP Sean".
