Sunderland closing on new Maja deal

The 'Black Cats' have had a terrible few years, suffering two consecutive relegations and now languishing in the third tier of the football league.

Having managed to sort out their terrible financial situation, they seem to be in the ascendancy as they sit second in League One.

A key part of their relative success so far this season has been the form of the 19-year-old striker, who has scored nine times in just 13 games for the team.

With his deal due to end in the summer, and plenty of other clubs interested in Maja, the club have taken steps to sign him up to a longer deal according to 'Sky Sports'.
