Spain's Fabian Ruiz praises squad's versatility

Fabian Ruiz is synonymous with success. The midfielder is unbeaten with the Spanish national team, with 35 consecutive matches without defeat, and hopes to make it at least 37, with qualification for the UEFA Nations League.
"I feel comfortable, with a good run, having the ball and in a positional game. I like to get into the box, but I also like to get down to receive and bring the ball out from the back. I try to combine a great deployment on the pitch with a possession game," the PSG player told Marca.
Fabian has found his place in recent years, both in ‘La Roja’ and at PSG. And precisely with Spain he was vital in winning the 2024 European Championship, which few were counting on at the start of the tournament.
"We have earned respect. Since we won the Nations League, we have only lost one game. We play well, and not just with the ball. We also play very well without it. We have a great group and it doesn't matter who plays here. Spain's strength lies in the number of players who can come in, and you don't notice if they come in or go out."
"De la Fuente gives me the freedom to move around the pitch, always within the order that the team needs. I feel very comfortable with his idea. He asks me to be a finisher, to finish."
"I'm working to improve my finishing, to score more goals, to finish the play when I get close to the box. But I'm always attentive to defending, a facet in which I feel comfortable. Just as I get to the opponent's area to attack, I have to do the same in our own area to help out at the back", he added.
