"Sorloth has scored more goals coming off the bench"

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Pablo Simeone said after thrashing Real Sociedad 4-0 with four goals from Sorloth that they have shown they have the ‘tools’ to ‘compete’ as they did during the year, while praising the Norwegian.
"I was happy with the first half of the team in general. Apart from that there was Sorloth's fantastic night. On every ball that came to him he was concrete and forceful. It allowed us to settle the game and take it where we didn't imagine we would take it so soon because Real Sociedad are a good team," said Simeone.
The coach was full of praise for the Norwegian striker. "With one striker less, because at the beginning everyone said we were playing with just one striker, we were still able to play a good game overall. Sorloth allowed us to take it where we wanted it to go."
On Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak and his goal to win the least-scored goalkeeper trophy, Simeone said, "It's something very important individually and collectively a certainty that our path was built from defensive security. At 4-0 down the team was in our half. That's what we are and hopefully we can continue to be that for a long time," he added.
On qualifying for the Champions League for the 13th time in a row, Simeone recalled. "I remember the first word Miguel Angel Gil Marín said to me. He spoke to me about the need, not the objective. It was the need to get into the Champions League so that the club could grow as it is growing.
"We have to give value to the legacy left by the lads who started with us and those who are here now, so that those who come here know where they are coming from," he explained.
The coach confessed that when the first half was over he thought about how they play when they want to, referring to his players. "When they have the personality to play the game we want they play very well. We have shown that we have the tools to compete as we have competed all year," he said.
