Son gave Spurs the lead in a crazy half

Son gave Tottenham the lead against Rochdale. Twitter

It was an incredible first half of football, both on the pitch and in the referee's ear, and Son Heung-Min fired Tottenham in front.

Two VAR decisions denied Spurs an opener and then gave them a penalty, with Son scoring the opener in between.

Lamela spreaded it to Son in the box on the left. He stood up to Rafferty, taking a touch to the side and finding the far corner with a fine effort.

He then had a chance to double his tally but a bizarre decision by Paul Tierney ruled out Son's penalty because of a stuttered run-up.
