"Simeone and the club gave me the freedom to decide my future"

Atletico Madrid striker Angel Correa revealed that both Simeone, his coach, and the club have given him "the freedom to decide" his future and explained that he will determine it when the Club World Cup is over. These statements were made in an interview with “Los Edul”, which was broadcast on Thursday and which took place three weeks ago.
"What I want I have already spoken with Cholo and with the club. They respect me and know that I gave everything here to help the team. I always gave my all, I put the team before myself. They know and understand me. They gave me the freedom to decide what I want to do for my future," Correa said.
"I still have a year left on my contract with Atletico, I have met with Miguel Angel (Gil Marin, Atletico's CEO), he has told me that he wants to renew me, Cholo has told me that he is happy with my work, that he understands me and to decide what I feel is best for me," he added.
"I'm trying to enjoy what's left of these games and the training sessions. Afterwards, I'll go to the Club World Cup with all my batteries and then, when that's over, I'll see what my future holds". In the interview, Correa talks about "some news coming out", such as that he has "a pre-agreement with another team, and that's a lie".
"I don't have any pre-agreement with anyone. I'm focused on the team as I always have been, on continuing to improve as a footballer. I don't have any pre-agreement with any team," he concluded. In recent weeks, the player has been linked with Tigres UANL for next season.
