Sheffield United renew Fleck's contract until June 2023

January is the month of new signings in the winter market and February, in many cases, of renewals. And Sheffield United confirmed a contract extension. Scottish midfielder John Fleck signed a 2-year contract extension with the club. In this way, he will be at Bramall Lane until June 2023.

"Sheffield are an amazing club. I've always wanted to be a part of this institution. I've enjoyed being here from day one, so I saw no objective reason not to continue working with the team for two more years", the player assured.

On the other hand, the team's manager Chris Wilder highlighted the "outstanding progress" of the player since he arrived at Bramall Lane in 2016-17. "We want to keep our best players at the club and John is one of them, therefore we are delighted with the agreement", he ended.

Fleck started out at Rangers, from where he moved to England to play for Blackpool and Coventry City before signing for Sheffield United. Despite the fact that he is a CDM, the Scotsman has scored 13 goals for the Bramall Lane outfit. This year he has scored 5, his best numbers since he started to play.
