Sevilla sack sporting director Victor Orta

Victor Orta has stepped down as Sevilla's sporting director, a position he and his staff took up in June 2023 and which he is stepping down from after two seasons at the helm, the club said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Sevilla FC has dismissed Victor Orta, who until now was the club's sporting director, and his team. In this way, Orta and his collaborators are leaving the club, which they joined in the 2023/24 season, after two seasons," the statement said.

"Sevilla FC would like to thank Victor Orta and his team for their professionalism, commitment and performance in their tasks and wishes him all the best in his new professional challenges," the club said.

Victor Orta, 46, from Madrid, took over from Ramon Rodriguez ‘Monchi’, but in his two seasons as sporting director he has been unable to prevent the team from struggling at the bottom of the EA Sports La Liga table.
