"Saudi Arabia? I like good football, not expensive football’

Real Sociedad took the first step towards advancing to the last 16 of the Europa League with their victory over Midtjylland. The 'Txuri-urdin' won 1-2 at the MHC Arena after a hard and cold match, but Brais Mendez and Takefusa Kubo took out the brazier to warm up the matter and get a favourable result for the second leg at the Reale Arena.

After the match, the Japanese player was one of those who appeared before the media. Speaking to 'Marcador' of 'Radio Marca' in the mixed zone, Take Kubo left a few headlines and criticized the state of the pitch: “Since I've been a professional, this has been the worst pitch I've played on, there was more brown than green”.

The winger, who finished the match “a little tired”, scored a great goal. “Everyone asks me to shoot more, but well, asking is free”, joked Kubo, who despite some disagreements, stood up for his coach and asked for the renewal of Imanol Alguacil: "I don't know if he is the best coach in the history of Real, what I do know is that he has helped me the most (...) If Imanol wants to renew, the club should put his contract on the table without thinking about it".

The most striking was his response to the interest of Saudi Arabian football. There are many players from the European elite who have gone there and in recent days there has been much talk of Vinicius Jr, as the Brazilian would have a huge offer while he refuses to renew with Real Madrid for the moment. Kubo said he is not interested in that.

“I like good football, not expensive football,” replied the 23-year-old Japanese. Against Midtjylland, Take Kubo scored his sixth goal in 34 games this season. It's already three years at Real, where he has grown exponentially after leaving very good sensations in Mallorca, Villarreal or Getafe.
