Salah was forced off early against City through injury

The Egyptian had opened the scoring for the 'Reds' inside twelve minutes, but the night ended prematurely for him as he was forced off.

With 51 minutes gone, Salah went to the sideline to discuss a niggle with the Liverpool medical staff and after a brief conversation he could be seen walking down the tunnel.

Giorginio Wijnaldum came on in place of Salah, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moving out wide.

It wasn't clear what problem Salah was suffering from but it appeared to be with his groin.

The fact that their star man could walk off under his own steam will be scant consolation for Liverpool fans as they await news of Salah's condition.
