Russo calls for Boca to 'keep improving' under his guidance

Boca Juniors manager, Miguel Angel Russo, stressed this Friday that his team must continue to improve ahead of the third and final group stage match of the Club World Cup, against Auckland City, following the 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich.
"We need to keep improving in a lot of aspects (...) this is the idea and the way in which we have to find a way to compete at a very high level," said the coach in the post-match press conference.
Russo insisted that his team "is competing at a high level", and highlighted the second half as the benchmark for Boca, as that was when they played the German team on equal terms. "A draw would have been a fair result," he claimed.
Regarding the need to score a hatful of goals against Auckland City to progress to the next round, he called for calm, and to continue working to ensure that "these things happen".
One of the highlights of the match was the support received from the fans, who made Boca seem like the home team, something for which Russo was extremely grateful.
"Impressive. It's nothing new to me. One is left with the pain of losing but the fans are amazing and will have a big part to play. We need to build an important partnership with the team," he said.
