Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr were knocked out by Al Ittihad in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup, which was the first tournament which the Portuguese striker was knocked out from since his arrival.
"Ronaldo missed a chance on goal which would have changed the course of the match in the first half, but I'd like to congratulate Al Ittihad", manager Rudi Garcia said in the press room.
Having said that, the Al Nassr coach praised his new signing: "He's a positive signing, as he helps distract their defenders. He's one of the best in the world. He won't end his career at Al Nassr, he'll go back to Europe", he said.
On the game, he said that "they were a lot better until the break". "Then, we reacted, but we couldn't turn it around. We've lost in the Super Cup, but we're still first in the league".
"It's really important that the players play normally and that they don't always try and give the ball to Ronaldo, as well as them making the right choices on the pitch. Obviously, when Cristiano and Tlisca are alone and ask for the ball, we've got to give it to them. Those two players are capable of making the difference".
