Ruben Semedo remembers his time in prison: "I spent a lot of nights crying"

After being accused of homicide, assault, threats, ilegal detention, illegal possession of firearms and robbery with the use of violence, Ruben Semedo recalled his time in jail.
"The first two months it seemed that time was not going by because as well as not getting any information from outside, the judicial process hadn't changed," explained the centre-back.
"The choice of laywers which my Mum and I made was not the best, but we only realised afterwards," he added.
In addiition, the Portuguese confessed that he cried a lot of times in prison: "I cried a lot of nights. I never did it in front of anybody, but I couldn't sleep many nights and I was just thinking about my children and my family suffering."
"It makes you think if it is really worth not spending time with your family to spend time with people who don't care about you and lead you down paths which won't get you anywhere. I suffered a lot and yes, I cried a lot of nights," he pointed out.
Ruben Semedo also admitted that he thought about not playing again: "Yes, at the beginning, no, because I listened to the lawyers' advice and thought that in one or two weeks everything would be sorted."
"But after the second month I started to realise where I was and I realised that I may not be able to come back and play football," he concluded.
